Selling a car isn’t as simple as just snapping a picture and posting it on online classifieds. That’s why we’ve created this simple guide on how you can sell your vehicle online.

Prepare the paper work
Before even posting your beloved car for sale, it would be best to gather all of your vehicle’s documents first. Search for the original receipt, certificate of registration, accident records (if any), and maintenance history. Making sure that these documents are readily available for the buyer to inspect gives them an idea of how the car was maintained and how trustworthy you are. These documents would also make it easier for the buyer to transfer the vehicle to their ownership.

Check your vehicle’s condition and set a fair price tag
Do a quick search online for other people selling the same car model as yours. Take note of the highest and the lowest price that you can find as this will be your price range.
Now, assess your vehicle’s condition and check if there are any bumps or scratches. Of note, previous accidents, mechanical issues, and missing parts may reduce the value of your car. It would be highly recommended to have all issues fixed before posting it for sale else you would have to adjust the price accordingly.

Let the buyer know more about the vehicle
Painting a clear picture of what a buyer would be getting is your responsibility as a seller. Disclose all previous and/or current problems with the car and highlight any of its standout features. The added aftermarket headunit or rims may add value to your car. Also, don’t forget to take good photos and state the reason for selling the car.
